Hotels in Las Vegas are easy to find during the weekdays and a lot cheaper too, but it seems that when you try to book a room in the MGM Grand hotel or Caesars Palace hotel on the strip during Christmas or some major holiday or weekend, the prices suddenly jack up and it becomes beyond affordable - additionally it becomes difficult for you to pick and choose your preferences and sometimes even to just book a room.  I remember last Thanksgiving break when I took my family to the MGM Grand Hotels in Las Vegas, I were able to get a room because we had booked it ahead of time online, but when we asked for a better view of the strip, they would not change our rooms because the whole MGM Grand Hotel was full and booked.
